Description
The universal belt focuser set contains the following items:
- toothed pulley for telephoto or telescope focusing ring (GT2 standard). This pulley contains two belt clamps where the belt can be inserted
- piece of GT2 toothed belt (which can be cut to fit the client’s setup)
- unipolar stepper motor 12V with a built-in reduction gearbox that gives a resolution of 976.8 steps per revolution (it is about 0.03mm of the belt movement per step)
How to order?
You need to select the toothed pulley inner diameter. Select the already existing telescope, or select Custom and provide the measured value in the comment to the order. The toothed belt length and fixing plate length will be adjusted to the selected pulley diameter.
The fixing plate allows attachment of the focusing motor to the dovetail where the telescope or telephoto lens is attached to. If you think the fixing plate will not fit your setup, please contact us before you make the order.
How to mount?
- attach to focusing motor to the dovetail using the fixing plate
- move to motor close to the telescope
- set the focusing ring of the telescope to the approximate focus position
- attach the toothed pulley to the telescope – the clamp position must be opposite to the focusing motor shaft
- push one end of the belt to the belt fixing clamp in the pulley
- lead the belt around the focusing motor pulley to the second clamp of the telescope pulley
- cut the belt to the required length and push it to the second clamp of the telescope pulley
- set the belt tension by moving the focusing aside and fix the position using two bolts at the motor bottom
