Filter holder system for Seestar S50

Description

This product contains a complete set of components that allow to attach to popular Seestar S50 different filters.

This set contains the following elements:

1. 2″ filter holder that is inserted into Seestar – 2 pcs.
2. 12 and 14mm high threaded nut to block 2″ filters
3. 4 and 6 vans mini spiders to add spikes to the star images
4. dew cap that can be attached to the blocking nut
5. solar filter holder – that can be put on the dew cap
6. flexible S50 lens cap to protect the Seestar lens after a session

This set can be used in different configurations – as a simple 2″ filter holder, with an optional dew cap, or additionally a solar filter (ND solar filter foil needs to be purchased separately and glued to the solar filter holder) on top of this.

Element 1 needs to be pushed into the Seestar lens cell. This element contains a 6mm deep cell that can hold the 2″ filter or the mini spider vans (element 3). After placing the filter or mini spider van in the cell it needs to be locked with a threaded nut (element 2).

If you run the session in the high humidity environment, a dew cap hood (element 4) can be put on the threaded nut.

For Sun observation you need to prepare a solar filter. Cut the proper solar filter foil and glue it to the solar filter holder ring (elements 5). Then fit the ring with foil inside the solar filter holder. Then put the solar filter holder at the end of the dew cap hood. This way you can use solar filter foil and 2″ filters (like Solar Continuum or CaK) in the same time.

After the session, you can protect the Seestar lens with a flexible cap (element 6). The cap is thin enough not to block the Seestar from moving to the park position.
