Focusing motor for Celestron SCT / Edge HD / SW Mak telescopes

Description

Stepper motor with integrated gearbox and bracket for Celestron SCT, Edge HD, and Sky Watcher Maksutov telescopes.

Technical data and recommended settings:

• integrated gearbox 1:20
• resolution: 3000 steps per revolution of the focusing knob
• maximum voltage: 12V
• maximum current: 400mA
• maximum speed: 400 steps per second
• recommended settings: 250mA current, 300-350 steps per second speed, type unipolar, 0.0s acceleration, 0% hold torque

In the box:

• focusing motor with enclosure and RJ12 6-pin socket
• fixing bracket to Celestron SCT, Edge HD, or Sky Watcher Maksutov telescopes
• focusing knob (1/2 inch or 13mm inner diameter – choose the proper version)
• toothed belt
• focusing cable RJ12 6 pin (optional)

Installation:

Remove the rubber knob and three screws, and leave the metal shimmer:

Attach the bracket with three screws (the bracket can be rotated to different positions):

Attach the focuser knob and tighten the grub. Leave about 1mm between the mounting bracket and the focuser knob:

Put the toothed belt into the position:

Put the motor and place the tightening screw:

The toothed belt can be easily engaged and disengaged, so the manual control with the focusing knob is quite straightforward:
